Crocheted Baby Girl Sandals

I have wanted to make some kind of baby shoe for a while now, and I really mostly wanted to crochet them. I have been wondering and playing around with my yarn trying to get the shape of the sole of the foot in order to crochet some kind of footwear. Well, guess what? I figured it out all on my own by just playing around with the yarn. Here is a rough draft of a sweet baby sandal. How cute is this?! Now that I know how to do it, I will be making a better pair probably tomorrow, Will post pics of course! Enjoy!

Crayon Caddy

So I have been looking on Pinterest for inspiration and found one. I found a picture of a crayon caddy. Its actually called a crayon roll but I really like the way crayon caddy sounds haha. http://pinterest.com/pin/145522631679836537/
Anyways, I tested out a quick one to see how it works out when made. I have learned to use regular cotton fabric and not thick fabric like I used. It does not work as well, so next time I take a trip to the fabric store, I know what to look for. Also, I need elastics and buttons to close these. They are one of the best sewing ideas I have seen in a while!

Lack of Posts

Sorry to all of my followers, I have not been posting much at all. I have no school all week, so expect more crafts to be popping up left and right, my sewing machine and I will reunite as will the paint and papers and scissors and anything else I can think of! So be excited.

Salt Dough Foot Prints

How perfect would it be in a year or two- or even 32 , to look back at a smaller footprint from your babies? Perfect I would say. I found these easy salt dough recipe to make and it is a sweet keepsake to save forever! borrowed from:http://pinterest.com/pin/2814818487487534/
What you need:
- 1 cup salt
- 1 cup plain flour
- up to 1/2 cup water
What to do:
- mix together and knead until smooth and stretchy (very important to do)
- add more flour if too sticky, if too dry add more water
Make a smooth round canvas for a footprint (or handprint), make the print,
Put in oven for 3 hours at 100 degrees. When completely cooled, let the kids paint them!
Here is somebodies example, will post ours when finished!

Baby Booties

I am thinking of making some baby booties. I want to use fabric and sew them instrwd of trying to figure out a crochet or knitting pattern. Im sure I could figure it out from a sewing pattern that I can print out. Now my cha.llenge is finding one for each boy and girl because I keep only finding ones for girlier looks. Here are a few examples of booties I can try to make:

Quilted Pouch

Today I taught myself how to sew a quilted pattern. I decided to make another wallet/ pouch using these newly learned skills. How cute?! I Love this fabric as well, Good thing for scraps because I will definitely use it all up.

Recycled Planters Project

Nicole and I got the kids together today and made small planters using recycled baby food jars I save each time Scarlett eats. Nicole supplied the flower seeds, which were a mixed bunch so what will grow will be a suprise! We had the boys, Rowan, Sammy, and Timmy fill up the jars with soil and add the seeds. They wanted to water their flowers so we gave them mini squirt guns (thanks Mom and Jerry for sending those!) and viola'! Super cute project and the boys had a lot of fun and so did we! Playing with dirt is always a good time, and not just for little boys !
